直擊迪奧先生法國弗雷特老家

Christian Dior, in 1954, surveys a river on the grounds of the gabled 15th-century mill in Millyla-Forêt, France, that he restored in the late 1940s. Le Moulin du Coudret, seen in Architectural Digest’s October 1994 issue, became the couturier’s “hermitage of repose.”

A freestanding fireplace served both sitting areas in the double salon.

Old machinery, left intact, and high, small windows bespoke the former existence of the guest salon, as did a massive millstone that was converted to seating.

A Louis-Philippe bed and an Empire chair and night table filled the room Dior reserved for female guests.

In another guest room, a Louis-Philippe bergère, a marble-top table and floral drapery fabric evoked the late 19th century.

Set on the edge of the gardens, French patio furniture was used for alfresco dining or card playing, a favorite pastime of Dior’s.
