要看你所謂的ABC是多純的ABC啦，幾歲了

還要看對方家裡是純中國家庭或是1+1（說中文的環境機會有多少）

那個麥麥就超可愛的呀，雖然說未婚夫口齒不清但沒有人會介意

I  think  it  depends  on  the  person.
I  have  known  ABCs  who  speak  Chinese  or  Taiwanese  with  no  accent  at  all.  And,  there  are  also  people  who  struggle  just  to  make  out  a  few  syllable  of  Chinese  words.  So,  it`s  hard  to  generalize  the  accent  of  ABCs.  But,  the  ones  with  accent...I  will  just  ask  them  to  speak  English.  Because  it`s  such  a  pain  just  to  see  them  talk.

講中文會出現英文文法,  像是

"我不知道如果有我沒有時間"
"我起床八點"

ABC  stands  for  American  Born  Chinese

so  immigrated    at    a    young    age  is  not  ABC

我覺得  ABC  有口音可以接受，可是一堆死台客跟留學生很愛學那個口音，聽到都膩了。

加了這些條件的話

中文一定很流利也少有不會說得單字
但是呢，耳尖的可以聽的出來在國外長大
因為多少還是會混有英文口音

我出國五年後回台灣就有路人憑兩句話猜出我住國外
也有台灣朋友覺得我口音有變∼
這樣算不算例子？

Can    you    generally    tell    if    this    person    is    ABC    just    from    listening    to    the    person    speaking    Chinese/Taiwanese?

Actually,  I  can.  I  have  a  lot  of  friends  who  were  raised  overseas  since  infancy.  Can`t  say  I  can  notice  the  difference  EVERY  SINGLE  time  though...It  also  depends  on  the  listener`s  degree  of  perception.  Not  everyone  pays  attention  to  the  intonation  and  enunciation.

A  lot  of  times  you  can  tell  there`s  something  different  when  they  speak,  but  you  just  can`t  describe  it.

There`s  also  a  few  ABCs  (or  people  who  immigrated  at  a  very  young  age)  who  speak  better  and  clearer  (in  terms  of  pronounciation)  Mandarin  than  native  speakers  in  Taiwan,  and  without  a  foreign  accent.

Just  my  two  cents.

It  really  doesnt  matter,  but  if  just  for  answering  ur  q....  I  still  have  to  listen  to  your  chinese/taiwanese  in  order  to  tell  whether  you  are  ABT  or  not.  (  Why  ABT?  ha...I  have  known  a  lil  guy  who  was  born  in  the  state  and  corrected  me  that  he  is  ABT,  not  ABC  >"<)

However,  I  do  believe  some  ABT  who  speak  really  good  chinese/taiwanese  such  as  LA  boys?    I  think  their  taiwnese  is  almost  99%  accurate.     

For  personal  experience,  I  have  heard  a  really  good  chinese  from  an  ABT.    His  chinese  is  really  good  around  90%  in  my  opinion,  but  I  could  still  tell  the  slightly  diff  accent  as  long  as  I  was  born  and  raised  in  TW.

I  don`t  mind  if  it`s  all  natural,  if  it  all  comes  from  the  accent  you`re  familiar  with,  and  it`ll  inevitably  be  affected  by  English,  from  grammar  to  accent  and  all.

But!!  Not  if  someone  think  it`s  an  advantage  that  he/she  is  holding,  and  always  feel  the  need  to  show  off  or  thinks  he/she  is  superior  to    everyone  else  just  by  the  mere  factor  of  language,  which  is  simply  a  way  of  communication.


自然的腔調不令人討厭,這是每個人的特色,口音
但倘若刻意裝出,或總是迫不及待要讓人知道自己的"不同"
就真的沒那個必要
說穿了語言不過就是溝通工具

Gee!    Their  accents  sound  very  weird  to  me  neh!    Seems  some  of  the  guys  speak  better  Taiwanese  than  Chinese,  in  my  opinion.    Believe  it  or  not,  learning  Taiwanese  is  easier  than  Chinese,  according  to  my  foreign  pals.

我身邊的ABC(來這都是國小或是更小來的)
講話都沒什麼口音耶
一口流利的中英文(有些還加上台語)
整個羨慕阿~~
還有家裡住不注重華語教學
