英文文法問題...got to know

我知道有時候    got    to    =    have    to

另外  got  to  還有別的意思嗎

好問題...感覺上get  to在這裡好像沒有什麼特別的意思，
get  to拿掉句子還是ok，
加了get  to比較口語話的感覺，
除此之外意思上也沒什麼不同。

版主猜對了,  這裡就是become的意思.

只有have  got  to的型態意思才等於must,  也才能夠縮寫成gotta喔!

這是命令式語氣,  叫你去獻花.

                                                                                                    此處  got  to  單純是　get  to  的過去式

把get  to  拿掉  語意沒那強烈  但意思沒很大改變

純粉紅色和CharmeC講得比較正確也比較詳細。

這裡的  get  to  有「有機會（做某件事）•••」的隱喻，跟  have  got  to  （got  to）（gotta）是不一樣的。

「他們交換  e-mail  後（有機會能）更加認識了解彼此」

這就是為什麼  CharmeC  會舉那個「You  get  to  present  the  flowers」的例子。

I  didn`t  get  to  talk  to  her  =  I  didn`t  have  a  chance  to  talk  to  her  =  我找不到機會（時間）跟她說話

如果直接說「I  didn`t  talk  to  her」的話，除了「我沒有跟她講話」這麼簡單以外，也有可能是「我自己選擇不跟她講話」而不像「I  didn`t  get  to  talk  to  her」那樣有「（因為某樣無法控制的事或情況導致）我沒有跟她講話」=「（我原本想跟她講話，但是）我沒有跟她講到話」。

至於為什麼有時候  got  to  會有  have  to  （必須）的意思，則是因為很多時候「have  got  to」中的“have”被省略掉了，事實上「必須」正確的文法是「have  got  to」，因為“have  got”跟“have”是一樣的意思。

Do  you  have  a  pen?  =  Have  you  got  a  pen?  =  You  got  a  pen?

I  have  to  run  =  I`ve  got  to  run  =  I  got  to  run  =  I  gotta  run

What  do  you  have?  =  What  have  you  got?  =  What`ve  you  got?  =  有時候聽起來會變成  What  DO  you  got?

真的有人會講「What  DO  you  got?」，雖然這樣文法錯誤。=.=

以下是我自己的看法，有錯請指正。「What  do  you  got?」就跟「How`s  going?」一樣，是口語英文中被省略過後聽起來像、於是後來就繼續這樣被錯誤地用下去，甚至有時候可以在電視字幕上看到。原本應該是「How  is  it  going?」=「How`s  it  going?」，但是因為聽起來像「How`s  going?」，就真的有人這樣用，而且我覺得蠻常見的。

英文常常發生“省略”的現象，本來是從口語中出現，到後來會慢慢演變成影響書寫或正常用法了，久而久之也不會有人認為是錯的了。當然這是題外話，跟開板者問的無關。^^;
