Many    observers    have    disproved    the    false    claim    made    by    GE    crop    companies,  [which]    stated    that    the    technology    of    GE    is    the    solution    to    world    hunger.

我覺得有一些句子是run-on
像是Many    observers    have    disproved    the    false    claim    made    by    GE    crop    companies,  [which]    stated    that    the    technology    of    GE    is    the    solution    to    world    hunger.   
所以一定要加which在中間to  indicate  that  it  is  the  CLAIM  that  is  doing  the  "stating".
還有一些是英文語言的習慣
應該不會說when  you  are  shopping,通常是用present  tense  而不是present  progressive  (are  shopping)
所以用go  shopping比較順

我的淺見  只能改到這SORRY!
