Applying for US green card

My  brother  was  working  in  New  York,  but  a  month  ago,  his  company  was  closed.    He`s  looking  for  a  job,  but  so  far  no  luck  at  all.    His  H1-B  status  is  expiring  soon  because  of  the  company  closure.    Is  there  any  way  that  he  can  apply  for  green  card  so  he  can  continue  staying  legally?    Or  any  other  good  suggestions?    Please  help  me.    Thank  you  very  much.
