Diane  Von  Furstenberg,  for  instance,  offers  a  shirtdress  of  naive  cotton  eyelet,  wrapped  at  the  bodice,  with  a  cascade  of  pleats  fanning  out  from  the  hip;  United  Bamboo  reinvents  the  style  with  a  spruce  tuxedo  bib;  Derek  Lam  gives  it  a  sweet  1950`s  spin  with  a  skirt  that  swirls;  and  Marc  Jacobs  interprets  it  in  a  chemiselike  variation  with  a  ruffle  snaking  down  the  front.

A  grown-up  alternative  to  the  season`s  ubiquitous  baby  doll  and  trapeze  dresses,  the  shirtdress  allows  women  to  play  with  new  volumes  and  proportions.  As  Mr.  Fink  observed,  "You  can  bunch  it,  you  can  wrap  it,  you  can  wear  it  as  one  voluminous  layer  over  other  layers."

The  way  Viktor  &  Rolf  see  it,  Allegri  should  exude  a  fashion  aura  rather  than  just  concentrate  on  single  pieces. 

"We  didn`t  want  to  only  focus  on  the  technical  side  of  the  product  and  on  fabrics,  as  that  is  now  available  from  the  more  commercial  brands,"  said  Viktor  Horsting  in  an  exclusive  interview.  "We  want  to  focus  on  Allegri`s  style,  update  it  and  strengthen  the  brand`s  fashion  appeal."

As  they  get  ready  to  unveil  their  first  collection  on  Monday,  the  Dutch  duo  explained  what  attracted  them  to  Allegri,  the  storied  Tuscan  outerwear  and  rainwear  specialist.

"This  collaboration  is  a  wonderful  opportunity  to  work  with  one  of  the  best  Italian  sportswear  manufacturers,"  said  Horsting.  "In  our  own  collection,  we  like  to  focus  on  classic  wardrobe  elements,  such  as  tuxedos,  the  white  shirt,  the  little  black  dress  and  the  trenchcoat.  Allegri,  too,  is  a  renowned  producer  of  trench  and  raincoats,  which  is  why  the  collaboration  feels  natural."

Seeking  the  Hot  Bag:  Larger,  Structured  Looks  Seen  as  the  Keys  for  Fall

The  handbag  shape  for  fall  is  bigger  and  better.  At  least  that`s  the  trend  to  emerge  so  far  this  fashion  week,  during  which  American  designers  continued  their  full-court  press  into  the  ever-booming  handbag  category  long  dominated  by  European  brands.  While  silhouettes  generally  remained  similar  to  those  hitting  store  shelves  this  spring,  designers  tweaked  them  for  fall  by  making  them  bigger  and  by  adding  more  distinctive  hardware,  from  brass  locks  and  chains  to  jewelry.  Exotic  skins  remain  key.

And  bags  weren`t  the  only  focus.  Despite  predictions  of  a  turn  toward  minimalism  and  what  accessories  makers  feared  might  be  a  lessening  of  interest  in  the  category,  fall`s  collections  last  week  were  rife  with  hats,  legwear,  gloves,  sunglasses,  scarves,  belts  and  jewelry.

Diesel  Teams  Up  With  10  Corso  Como限量牛仔褲>>>

When  two  fashion  innovators  such  as  Diesel  and  Carla  Sozzani,  the  owner  of  the  trendy  10  Corso  Como  stores  in  Milan  and  Tokyo,  join  forces,  the  result  is  likely  to  be  positive. 

So  it`s  hardly  surprising  that  the  limited-edition  jeans  called  10  Corso  Como  are  selling  well  —  notwithstanding  a  $237  price  tag  in  both  Milan  and  Tokyo. 

The  project  comprises  400  pairs  of  untreated  indigo  blue  jeans  in  women`s  and  men`s  styles  that  Sozzani  described  as  selling  beyond  expectations  because  of  their  fit  and  cleanliness,  allowing  for  easy  mixing  and  matching. 

The  store`s  logo  is  sewn  inside  the  waistline,  while  a  big  10  is  embroidered  on  the  back  pocket.  In  addition,  10  Corso  Como  was  one  of  the  first  stores  to  show  a  preview  of  Rubens,  Diesel`s  "It"  shoulder  bag  for  spring  made  with  distressed  brown  hide,  studs  and  burnished  metal  clasp. 

Also  in  the  works  for  Diesel  is  a  jewelry  line  that  spotlights  pearls,  leather  and  silver  that  will  bow  at  the  end  of  the  month  at  the  Basel  trade  fair.  (wwd)
