I am the one who open this message board.
The reason I am opening is just to share this unpleasant experience I had and the fact is I may misunderstood the whole thing.
I think no one wants to be treated disrespectfully, and deserves equal service no matter the regions he or she comes from. However, the quality, and the behaviors of some visitors does effect the impression and responses towards them.
As a Taiwanese, I have to admit that in the early days some Taiwanese does not show good manners when travel to another countries. They talk loud in public, like to discount the prize, and with no manner when looking for toilets. With further accumulations of travel experiences, people learned and show better manners generally. I think later on, most travelers from China will have a better attitude, and have a better impression for people from other Chinese areas. Also, I want to point out that it is meaningless to discuss who is “Chinese” and who is not. We all from the Chinese society, but that do not mean we are Chinese politically. No deny on it!! Many Singaporeans whose parents are from China, but we still called them Singaporeans. Another very good case from the states, with all immigrants from all over the world, people called themselves AMERICAN rather then Japanese, Italian or other nationalities just based on where their accentors from. So, be more realistic and globalized !! stick on this kind of issues is a no go!!
